Indesit Dishwasher Troubleshooting

Suds in the tubImproper detergentUse only the special dishwasher detergent to avoid suds. If this occurs, open the dishwasher and let suds evaporate. Add 1 gallon of cold water to the tub. Close and latch the dishwasher, then Start the" soak" wash cycle to drain out the water. Repeat if necessary.
Spilled rinse-aidAlways wipe up rinse-aid spills immediately.
Stained tub interiorDetergent with colorant was used.Make sure that the detergent is the one without colourant.
White film on inside surfaceHard water mineralsTo clean the interior, use a damp sponge with dishwasher detergent and wear rubber gloves. Never use any other cleaner than dishwasher detergent for the risk of foaming or suds.
There are rust stains on cutleryThe affected items are not corrosion resistant.
A programme was not run after dishwasher salt was added. Traces of salt have got into the wash cycle.Always run the Quick wash programme . without any crockery in the dishwasher and without selecting the Turbo function (if present), after adding dishwasher salt.
The lid of softer is loose.Check the lip. Ensure the fix is fine.
Knocking noise in the wash cabinetThe spray arm is knocking against an item in a basket.Interrupt the programme, and rearrange the items which are obstructing the spray arm.
Rattling noise in the wash cabinetItem of crockery are insecure in the wash cabinet.Interrupt the programme, and rearrange the items of crockery.
Knocking noise in the water pipesThis may be caused by on- site installation or the cross-section of the piping.This has no influence on dishwasher function, if in doubt, contact a suitably qualified plumber.
The dishes are not cleanThe dishes were root loaded correctly.
The programme was not powerful enough.Use more detergent, or change your detergent. Rearrange the items so that the spray can rotate freely.
Not enough detergent was dispensed.
Item are blocking the path of spray arms.
The filter combination in the base of wash cabinet is not clean or is not correctly fitted. This may cause the spray arm jets to get blocked.Clean and/or fit the filter combination correctly. Clean the spray arm jets.
Cloudiness on glasswareCombination of soft water and too much detergent.Use less detergent if you have soft water and select a shortest cycle to wash the glassware and to get them clean.
Black or gray marks on dishesAluminum utensils have rubbed against dishes.Use a mild abrasive cleaner to eliminate those marks.
Detergent left in dispenser cupsDishes block detergent cups.Re-loading the dishes properly.
The dishes are not dryingImproper loading Too little rinse-aidLoad the dishwasher as suggested in the directions. Increase the amount of rinse-aid/Refill the rinse-aid dispenser.
Dishes are removed too soon.Do not empty your dishwasher immediately after washing. Open the door slightly so that the steam can escape. Begin unloading the dishwasher only once the dishes are barely warm to the touch. Empty the low basket first. This prevents water form dropping off dishes in the upper basket.
Wrong programme selectionIn short programmes the washing temperature is lower. This also lowers cleaning performance. Choose a programme with a long washing time.
Using cutlery with a low- quality coatingWater drainage is more difficult with these items. Cutlery or dishes of this type are not suitable for washing in the dishwasher.

Problem Solution
The Dishwasher Does Not Start- the plug is pushed into the socket correctly:
- the power is on in the house:
- the door is closed properly:
- the ON-OFF switch is on "ON":
- the water supply is turned on
The Dishwasher Does Not Drain- the drain hose is crimped or bent
Lime Deposits or a White Film Form on the Dishes- the lid to the salt container is closed properly:
- the rinse aid dosage is correct
If, despite all these checks, the dishwasher still does not function and/or the problem persists, contact the nearest authorised service centre and provide them with the following information:
- the nature of the problem:
- the model type number (Mod. ...) and the serial number (S/N ....), which are indicated on the plate located on the side of the inner part of the door
The Dishwasher Does Not Load Water- the water is turned on and the hose is connected properly:
- the water supply to the house is on and has sufficient pressure:
- the water supply hose is crimped or bent:
- the filter for the water supply hose is clogged
The Dishes Are Not CleanHave you put the right amount of detergent into the dispenser?
Is the wash cycle suitable for the dishes you have placed inside the appliance?
Are the filter and microfilter clean?
Can the sprayer arms turn freely?

Problem:Possible causes / Solutions:
The dishwasher does not start or cannot be controlled.• Switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF button, switch it back on after approximately one minute and reset the program.
• The appliance has not been plugged in properly.
• The dishwasher door has not been shut properly.
The door won’t close.• The lock was released. Strongly push the door until a “clacking" noise is heard.
No water drains out from the dishwasher.• The dishwasher cycle has not yet finished.
• The water inlet hose is bent
• The drain duct is blocked.
• The filter is clogged up with food residues.
The dishwasher makes excessive noise.• The dishes are rattling against each other or against the sprayer arms.
• An excessive amount of foam has been produced: the detergent has not been measured out correctly or it is not suitable for use in dishwashers
The dishes and glasses are covered in a white film or limescale deposits.• The level of the refined salt is low or the dosage setting is not suited to the hardness of the water
• The lid on the salt dispenser is not closed properly.
• The rinse aid has been used up or the dosage is too low.
The dishes and glasses are streaked or have a bluish tinge.• The rinse aid dosage is too high.
The crockery has not been dried properly.• A wash cycle without a drying program has been selected.
• The rinse aid has been used up or the dosage is too low
• The rinse aid dispenser setting is not suitable.
• The crockery is made from non-stick material or plastic.
The dishes are not clean.• The racks are overloaded
• The crockery has not been arranged well.
• The sprayer arms cannot move freely.
• The wash cycle is too gentle
• An excessive amount of foam has been produced: the detergent has not been measured out correctly or it is not suitable for use in dishwashers
• The lid on the rinse aid compartment has not been shut correctly.
• The filter is dirty or blocked
• The refined salt level is low
The dishwasher does not take any water in - Tap shut-off alarm (several short beeps are emitted) (the ON/OFF indicator light flashes and A 6 appears on the display).• There is no water in the mains supply.
• The water inlet hose is bent
• Turn on the tap and the appliance will start after a few minutes.
• The appliance lock has been activated because no action was taken when the beeps sounded.
Switch off the appliance using the ON/OFF button, turn on the tap and switch the appliance back on after 20 seconds by pressing the same button. Re-program the appliance and restart the wash cycle.
Water inlet hose alarm / Water inlet filter blocked Switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF button. Shut off the water tap to eliminate the risk of flooding and remove the plug from the electrical socket.
Make sure the water inlet filter has not become blocked by impurities
